HALL OF FAME
Polo G GETS INDUCTED INTO THE Hall of Fame
Some of the best campaigns happen when the concept is clear, and the artist has a specific vision. For Polo G's third album Hall of Fame, the goal was to deliver a digital marketing rollout with multiple sports culture touch points. Polo wanted to illustrate that he, one of the best in the game, was finally given the recognition he deserved. The recognition that he’s really one of the GOAT rappers of this generation and that he belongs in the Hall of Fame.
To bring this feeling of the Hall of Fame to life, Polo ensured that his creative paid homage / incorporated basketball themes. For the album photos, he emulate iconic images of Michael Jordan, recreating his iconic championship ring photo. By channeling the ambition and greatness associated with Jordan, a hall of famer himself, Polo G showed his that he believes he represents the same energy in music.
Enhancing the sports narrative, Polo enlisted Scottie Pippen, a basketball legend and Jordan's former teammate on the Chicago Bulls, to voice over the album trailer. Pippen's participation didn't stop there; he also sat down with Polo G for an one-on-one interview. The conversation dug into their journeys to success and triumph in sports and music.
Hall of Fame debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 143,000 units in its first week. In the competitive landscape of music, Polo G even outsold the much-anticipated Migos album that dropped the same week, solidifying his standing as a rap star. Further accentuating his success, "RAPSTAR," the lead single from the album, became Polo's first Hot 100 number-one.
Polo's journey, from his first album, Die A Legend, to his third album Hall of Fame, epitomizes the journey to greatness. When I began working with him during the Die A Legend era, his potential was evident, so the heights he has reached with Hall of Fame are no surprise. He spent his time playing the game, winning championships, and now he can walk across the stage holding the trophy.
